Alo’s Seedling

Today, I had the pleasure of meeting my neighbor, Alo’s, daughter.

For just a few months old, she was a healthy, chubby, pretty, inquisitive, young thang.

It reminded me of me, because as a baby, I was so plump that my father gave me the nickname “Chubby Chubby”.

Despite that title being the basis of a lot of my insecurities as I edged into adolescence, it does bring a smile to my face when ever I recall the few moments of softness I shared with my father.

When I close my eyes, I can see the pride on his face each time he called me “Chubby Chubby”. He meant it with affection.

Looking at Alo’s very own “Chubby Chubby”, thoughts what God’s heart is for children flooded my mind.

“A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world.”

– John 16:21

From these pictures, I can certainly see just how much joy this child brings to her and the world. <3
